    • Them that go to meetings stay sober, them that don't don't.
    • What other people think about me is none of my business.
    • There's nothing so bad that a drink couldn't make it worse.
    • Participation is the key to harmony.

We must remember that We are not Human Beings going through Spiritual experiences but rather Spiritual Beings going through Human experiences.

Yeah, that's my problem, I usually get out one quick point and then forget where I was going with it. :p Or, if I actually get on a roll and make my point I don't know when to shut up and end up rambling until my point is forgotten by everyone else.

Not Necesarily an AA one liner, but a good quote...

"There is no possession more valuable to an alcoholic than a sober sunrise; and any drunk who demands more out of life than that, will probably not have it." --Dave R.

This is more than one line but it makes perfectly goood sense to Me.Quote from Lance.

I'm much better off to imitate your thinking, especially if you are experienced in sobriety and try on for size your view of the world. Might fit and might not, but at least I'm not continuing to use my head to fix the head which was trying to kill me.

    Here are a bunch of them from Dallas B. of Arkansas and Step12.com;

If you keep doing what you're doing --
You'll keep getting what you're getting
If you don't like what you're getting
    Change what you're doing!"

"When the Will is in conflict
With the Imagination or the Emotions
    the Will ALWAYS loses!"

"If you are in the wrong place --
    the right place is empty."

"The way to become an Old-Timer --
    Don't drink and don't die!"

    "The ignorance that's no excuse
is usually better than anything else we can think of."

"When I first came in to A.A.
    I couldn't hear the words --
But I sure could hear the music!"

"Alcoholics Anonymous does not work in theory --
    It only works in practice!"

    "Have a nice day --
    Unless you've made other plans!"

"Step One -- You messed it up
Step Two -- It can be fixed
Step Three -- But not by you!"

"God speaks to me through the strangest people --
Some of whom I don't like!"

"The reason people blame other people --
    There is only one alternative!"

    "Rationalization is like masterbation --
    You are only screwing yourself!"

"If you're having trouble believing in a Power Greater than yourself --
Just try believing in a Power Other than yourself!"

    "Humor isn't for everyone --
It's only for people who want to have fun, enjoy life and feel alive!"

"Live each day as if it were your last --
    Eventually, you will be right!"

    I'm a human-being, not a human-doing.

Hey, I just remembered where I picked that one up from... There was a fellow who owed me about $700 in back rent before skipping out. Then I saw him in AA for a while. Lance probably remembers him. I told Lance, about the resentment I had toward the guy. How could he come to a meeting and talk about having supposedly made his amends when he never paid me the rent he owes me, or even apologized about it? Well, since I knew I'd never see the money anyhow, there was no since in either of us being uncomfortable when the other was at a meeting so I made a point of sitting next to him in a meeting once to help bury the hatchet. I didn't bring up the money, but I told him he shouldn't feel that there is any hard feeling between us.

I still don't have $700, but I don't burn with hate when I see the guy come in the store either. I think he must still feel guilty though, he always pretends to not see me until I make a point of saying hello... I ALWAYS say hello.

Anyhow, he used to say that all the time. So I guess I learned something from someone I don't like. Didn't we just have a Daily Reflection about that?
